The CL8080 is a high-performing, highly integrated Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) R2 PCIe chip that delivers best Wi-Fi network performance for its size by combining two Wi-Fi 6 radios into a single 11x11mm PCIe chip. The chip employs two concurrent dual-band Wi-Fi 6 radios with 8T8R ElasticMIMO™ architecture that can drive aggregated PHY/ Data Link speeds up to 6Gbps. The two independent radios can function as an access point, client, AP/CLI, connectivity + Wi-Fi Doppler Imaging, or dedicated spectrum intelligent engine.
CL8080 integrates dual MAC, dual PHY, analog and RFIC in a single package, including the required CPUs and memories to run more of the wireless LAN functions on-chip, eliminating the need for costly external memories and delivering a strong host offloading solution. Interface to the host is over a dual-lane PCIe 3.0 interface.
The CL8080 is designed to support standard based features addressing security, Quality of Service and international regulation, as well as above-standard integrated value-add functionalities based on Celeno’s embedded and edge software technologies, including the disruptive ElasticMIMO™ architecture, enabling dynamic runtime allocation of the radio chains and MIMO streams between the two radios for best performance and coverage leveraging adaptive optimization engine.
With inherent Wi-Fi Doppler Imaging support, CL8080 combined connectivity and radar capabilities in a single chip, enabling new use cases in the areas of smart home, smart offices, smart factories, with an application such as security, energy management, health and well-being and entertainment analytics.
