IT6227FN: A Highly Integrated USB-C to HDMI 2.1 Solution Designed for Next-Generation AV Dongles and Display Products

Inc. introduces the IT6227FN — a highly integrated USB Type-C and Power Delivery (PD) controller IC with embedded DisplayPort to HDMI 2.1 conversion functionality. Tailored for dongles, docking stations, and display-end applications, this one-chip solution empowers customers to create compact, feature-rich, and design-efficient audio-video transmission products.
The integrated HDMI 2.1a transmitter supports FRL mode with up to 12Gbps per lane, 36-bit color depth, and 8-channel high-definition audio (up to 192kHz / 24-bit). Features such as HBR (High Bit Rate) audio and Display Adaptive Sync to HDMI VRR make it ideal for gaming and high-quality media playback.
The solution is already validated with major SoC platforms, allowing customers to accelerate product integration and shorten time-to-market.

All-in-One Integration: Reduce BOM Cost and Simplify Design
The IT6227FN features complete USB-C DFP/UFP/DRP logic and resistors, supports Dead Battery mode, and is fully compliant with USB PD 2.0 and PD 3.0 (including Chunk Mode). With an integrated MCU and on-chip Flash memory, the device eliminates the need for external controllers or memory, significantly reducing system complexity, BOM cost, and PCB layout area.Premium AV Performance Supporting 4K120 and 8K Displays
Equipped with a 4-lane HBR3 DisplayPort 1.4a receiver and DSC 1.2a decompression, IT6227FN supports high refresh rate resolutions, including:- VESA formats: up to WUXGA@240Hz and WQXGA@240Hz
- CEA formats: 4K120Hz (4:4:4), 8K30Hz (4:4:4), and 8K60Hz (4:2:0)

Each IT6227FN is pre-programmed with a unique HDCP key, compliant with HDCP 1.3 / 2.3 (DP) and HDCP 1.4 / 2.3 (HDMI), ensuring content protection and simplifying DRM compliance and product certification.
