Product Introduction
The Taoglas PA.12 2.4 GHz Dielectric PIFA Antenna is designed to operate across the 2400–2484 MHz frequency band, supporting wireless applications such as Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, and Zigbee®. Using a ceramic dielectric PIFA structure, the antenna delivers a compact footprint, high radiation efficiency, and improved isolation compared with conventional PCB-based antennas.The antenna is intended for placement at the corner edge of the PCB on the component side and must be mounted in a non-ground (copper-free) area. The feed point is matched directly to the RF module. For optimal performance, the recommended footprint and placement guidelines should be followed as detailed in the Footprint Diagram (Section 8.0, Page 13).
Many RF module manufacturers specify maximum allowable antenna peak gain, typically defined under free-space conditions. When integrated into an end device, antenna performance is commonly reduced by 1–2 dBi due to the effects of the ground plane, nearby components, and device enclosure. As a result, selecting an antenna with a slightly higher free-space peak gain can help offset this degradation and improve overall system performance.
Taoglas offers antenna evaluation and validation services to ensure compliance with module peak gain requirements after integration. Upon request, Taoglas can provide test reports and compliance documentation demonstrating that the antenna, when installed in the target device, meets the specified regulatory and module performance limits while delivering optimized RF performance.
